35% of businesses are now owned by women

Frustrated by career growth and, in the wake of pandemic challenges, more women are becoming their own boss. In 2020, the  share of business founders grew by 45% for women and 32% for men, compared to a year before.

This is great news for women in general because seeing other women go out on their own and succeed could be just the push we all need to capitalise on your skills and ideas.

We know around 35% of businesses are now owned by women, with the number of SHEOs rising.

These female entrepreneurs may very well be the driving force behind economic recovery, with research by Asialink suggesting that boosting the number of female business owners to be equal that of men, could add between $70 billion and $135 billion to our economy.
